Module 8 Reflection

Of everything you learned, what do you think will have the biggest impact on student learning?

As we beginning training and assisting teachers with student centered learning, technology integration, and project approaches, we must address the obvious techniques that need improvement and innovations. Through project based learning, teachers can address and involve every type of learner in some way through technology. The biggest impact on student learning will be the willingness to change for the sake of the students and the effectiveness of new knowledge being used in the classroom and computer labs.

Module 7Reflection

You have applied the unit evaluation rubric to your unit plan. Based on that assessment, note any changes you would like to make to your Unit Portfolio in your blog post for Module 7.

This unit was extremely vast in the amount of CSO's to be covered, and did not include adequate Web 2.0 tools for 11th grade students. I took out the dramatization and added a Blogster project for the final assessment. I would also like to add a wiki or blog for posting and collaboration.

Module 5 Reflection

This module has helped me think about student-centered assessment in the following ways....

• Preparation and proper implementation is key to a successful ongoing assessment
• Assessment includes focus on higher-order thinking
• Addressing 21st Century Skills

Module 6 Reflection

This module has helped me think about self-directed learners and the role of differentiation in the following way.....

Knowing all of the students' learning styles and developing multiple activities to accommodate those learning styles can lead to furthered self-directed students. Creating an atmosphere conducive to learning can be enhanced by incorporating various projects within a PBL. In addition to differentiation, students need to understand self-directed learning which may require continued implementation strategies.

Module 4 Reflection

How can technology be used most effectively to support and assess student learning?

By using technology in conjunction with cso's and student needs. Determining the underlying goals can help in assessment using various types of technology within the project according to age appropriateness.

Module 3 Reflection

This module has helped me think about the impact of the Internet on my students' learning in the following ways...

• the vast communication tools available to students and teachers (blogging, wikis, skype, illumination)
• the importance of teaching and practicing proper copyright usage
• the usefulness of collaboration and communication within the unit planning/development process

I really enjoy using Web 2.0 tools within the classroom!

Module 2 Reflection

This module has helped me think about using standards, CFQ's, or formative assessment in the following ways....

• Units should be based on standards required and developed around those standards
• CFQ's are developed to provide a proper understanding of the content addresses; they make learning more meaningful
• Formative assessment provides ongoing feedback throughout the unit in many ways, it also monitors the progress throughout.
